My Opel Vivaro was a bit dodgy where power was concerned, especially when loaded. With the P-Tronic kit, it's got its wind back, especially on hills. And there's more torque too, which I especially appreciate when I'm driving in town. Christophe G., Verviers.
As a diesel driver for over 20 years I was out of my comfort zone, and I had trouble deciding between the TFSI 180 (no COD) and the TFSI 150 versions of the Audi A3. I chose the 150 hp engine (I had an Audi Q3 2.0 TDI 140). After a four-month wait, I received the car and I have to say the quiet compared to diesel is very enjoyable. The Audi revs well and the box does a great job. A real pleasure. The transition to two cylinders (COD) is barely noticeable. BUT, as supplied, it doesn't transmit the power efficiently. Especially when starting. Knowing that this version is limited, I opted for P-Tronic (external) engine reprogramming, partly to avoid losing my warranty. I placed my order and two days later I was able to enjoy this extra option: the torque and smoothness have transformed my TSFI 1.4 into an exciting sports car for fun on winding roads or for getting away from traffic troubles. No regrets, quite the opposite – my Octavia 1.4 TSI combined with the P-Tronic tuning box is far better than I expected. It works great at all engine speeds! The smoothness is surprising (torque from 1400 rpm), giving the enjoyable sensation of pushing pleasantly firmly all the time with no suddenness. Simple to fit.
