It's facelift time for the BMW 3-series. This restyling involves first of all the design of the model in saloon and estate versions. The CS concept of the 7-Series has been adopted. Included are: bi-xenon headlights (optional) and diode indicators. At the back too, the lights have been retouched and voluntarily lose some of their homogeneity. While the iDrive comes into line with that presented on the recently announced 7-Series, there is another innovation on show: the adoption of a new diesel by the 330d. This 2993 cc unit develops 245 bhp at 4,000 revs, and torque of 520 Nm from 1,750 revs! This enables the 330d to race to 100 km from standstill in just 6.1 seconds in the case of the saloon, one tenth longer for the estate. It should be added that the 318d is now available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and that the all-wheel xDrive transmission is notably available on the 320xd and 330xd. |
