The engine, which meets the Euro-5 anti-pollution norm, is a 2.2 litre biturbo and is to be fitted to the Mercedes C250 CDI BlueEfficiency, producing 204 bhp and 500 Nm. These are performances which were already to be found under the bonnet of the CLS 320 CDI, E320 CDI and S 320 CDI and for which P-Tronic offers one of its most effective additional box units. Linked to a manual 6-speed gearbox, this 2.2 enables the C250 CDI to get from standstill to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. Impressive? especially as this Common Rail injection engine with piezo-injectors only consumes 5.2 litres per 100 km and emits only 138 grams of CO2 per km. other characteristics of the saloon help in this respect: a smooth underside, aerodynamic rear view mirrors, low rolling-resistance tyres? |
