The 3.0 HDi which will shortly equip the C5 and C6 is derived from that of the Jaguar XF. It is fitted with two turbos, and develops 240 bhp and 450 Nm from 1,600 revs. This is 50 Nm less than the Jaguar, but torque already exceeds 400 Nm at under 1,400 revs, which partially explains the low consumption of the engine, announced at 7.4 litres per 100 km for the mixed cycle. CO2 emissions are 195 grams of CO2 per km on both the C5 and the C6. This figure is 30 grams and 35 grams less than the 2.7 HDi, respectively. In the performance department, Citroën has announced 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds for the C5, and 8.5 seconds for the C6. The P-Tronic additional box unit for this engine will very quickly be available. |
