By putting it under the bonnet of its Q7, Audi had already demonstrated that large cubic capacity and the environment could live together very comfortably. Now it's the turn of the A4 to benefit from the 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel. This engine is equipped with common rail injection whose pressure can rise to 2000 bars in order to optimise combustion. It uses the AdBlue additive (like HGV's) and a catalytic converter to treat exhaust gases and reduce polluting emissions. As a result, the 3.0 TDI meets Euro-6 norms, which will come into force in 2014. It only requires 6.7 litres per 100 km and can catapult the A4 from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. Better than good. |
